Fraternity Sperm Donation Fundraiser

When I was freshman in college, I joined our campus's largest fraternity. My Big Bro who sponsored me, was on the board of the Fraternity as our Greater Cause Chair. During rush week (the time when all students looking to join Greek life, interview and party with the different fraternities), I along with 37 other guys rushed a Fraternity. During Rush Week, I got to meet the guys who had been in the frat for a few years, and attended some of the rush events and parties at the frat house. Once rush week was over and the 38 of us were all sworn in as pledges, each pledge had to join a board and act as the "pledge chair" to that board. Since my Big Bro was the Greater Cause Chair, I naturally became the Pledge's Greater Cause Chair. What that means is I had to coordinate fundraisers and community service events for the pledges.

Each pledge needed to fundraise $3,000 to earn a spot in the Fraternity. For the first three weeks of pledging, my Big Bro and I helped plan car washes, date auctions, and raffles. But for 38 people to fundraise $3,000 each, we needed to come up with $114,000. With 9 weeks left to raise the money, my Big Bro threw out the idea of donating sperm. The local sperm bank was offering $150 for each donation. I proposed the idea to the rest of the pledges and the majority of them agreed it was a good idea. The following day I contacted the sperm bank and asked if they could send a representative to present at our next pledge meeting to inform everyone of the process, paperwork and commitment.

At the next pledge meeting, the representative came and went through a slide deck of the whole donation program. Each qualified donor needed to commit to produce 100 vials before they were released from the program. Additionally, we each had to go through a genetics test, psych evaluation, physical, as well as a family history interview. If we passed all of these, then we were qualified to become donors. The representative passed out the initial paperwork and consent forms, and we began to fill them out.

Over the next few days I worked on collecting all of the Pledge's paperwork and consent forms and submitted them to the sperm bank. Over the following two weeks, we all went through the genetics tests, psych evaluations, physical, as well as the family history interview. Surprisingly 22 pledges, including myself, were qualified to become donors and start the donation program. The length of the donation program lasted until the donor produced 100 vials of seman. Additionally, we were required to abstain from ejaculation 48-72 hours before each donating.

The 22 of us did the math and if we committed to donating Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week for the next 6 weeks and we needed to produce 2 vials of seman per donation (the average donation is 2-3 vials per visit), then we would have more than enough to cover the fundraising needs of all 38 pledges.

We all started researching the best ways to increase our sperm count so we could get as many vials per visit as possible. We made a celibacy pact that none of us would jack off or have sex until we hit the fundraising target. For the following six weeks, we cut out all alcohol, weed, and ejaculations. We also all carpooled down to the sperm bank every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The irritability from not being able to cum, along with the crazy testosterone levels could be felt across all the pledges leading up to the donation. The guys that didn't make the donation cut, still chose to follow our same celibacy pact until our goal was reached. I personally have never gone more than one day without jacking off since I was 14 years old. For being 18yo, this was one of the more psychologically challenging things I had to put up with, especially abstaining from Friday to Monday.

After we completed the first two weeks of donations, the first paychecks went out. Between the 22 of us we made just shy of $40k, which was amazing for just two weeks of constant seman retention. As we closed in on the 6th week of donating it was clear we were going to hit our fundraising target. With our goal met, we all were able to join the fraternity. The 22 of us who were in the program were going to continue with the donations and keep the earnings for ourselves. Since we no longer needed to fundraise, we no longer carpooled together. We made appointments that worked around our class, sports and fraternity schedules.

It took me about 4 months to approach the 100 vial target. With School and the Fraternity I was only able to go to the sperm bank once or twice a week. But when I was one visit away from hitting 100 vials, I received an email from the sperm bank. At the close out of my donation terms, I needed to fill out some additional paperwork and do one last physical and sample collection.

On the day of the appointment, I was a little sad that this would be the last time I was donating, and the last time I would collect a paycheck for jacking off. When I entered the office, the lady behind the front desk asked me to fill out some paperwork and sign a few forms. The documents were similar to the ones I signed at the beginning of the program, they just wanted me to confirm that I hadn't any changes in my sexual history, and that I was still content with the sperm bank being the the sole provider of my sperm after the conclusion of the program. I signed the documents, grabbed the donation cup, and went into the donation room for the last time.

When I went to leave the room, there was a doctor waiting for me by the door. She was about 40yo and said that she was going to be the one to conduct my close out physical. I never had a physical done by a woman before, and I was caught off guard and nervous. She took me to the patient room in the back of the sperm bank, and asked me to get undressed and to lay down on the bed. I removed my clothes, folded them and put them on the chair and waited on the bed. When she returned she began to conduct the physical and started palpitating my abdomen. She asked me to remove my underwear and she started inspecting my testicles. She looked over at me and pointed out that she needed to biopsy a bump that she felt on both my testicles. Startled I asked what she meant. She showed me where it was and it felt like a squishy tissue on the top side of my testicles. It didn't hurt at all, but she seemed serious.

The doctor said I would need it removed and biopsied to ensure the close out of my donation contract and that there was nothing wrong that could jeopardize my sperm donations. If I was disqualified from the program, I would owe all the money back that I have earned. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't get all the money back and I was also worried she found testicular cancer.

She said she was going to prepare for the biopsy and left the room. She returned with a trey holding a syringe, scalpel, clippers and some gauze. She asked me to lay down and try to relax, this was going to be quick and hopefully painless. She took the syringe with the numbing agent and injected it into my scrotum. Almost instantly my whole ball sac went numb. As I laid there I could feel her take the scalpel and cut down the right side of my scrotum. She inserted a pair of tongs into the incision and clasped onto my spermatic cord. I could feel her pulling the cord out through the incision and then using the clippers to snip away a piece of tissue. She then repeated the process on the left side of my scrotum. I didn't feel any pain, but I did feel the cold metal entering me and the pressure on my testicles as she pulled my spermatic cord through the incision.

After a few mins, she was done. She glued the minor incisions closed, and asked me to put my clothes back on. On the tray were 2 chunks of reddish tissue and some bloody gauze. She told me she was going to send this to the lab and if anything came back she would tell me. She said that I was most likely going to feel pain in my abdomen and groin area for a few days, so I should take Tylenol and not strain to hard. I left the clinic and went back to my dorm.

As soon as the numbing stuff wore off, I was in excruciating pain. It felt like I got kicked in the balls and I was in agony for hours. Tylenol barely helped. And it took a few beers for me to be able to properly function or concentrate on anything. For the next three days I was in horrible pain, but slowly it began dissipating. After a week, I felt normal and had no pain.

When I attended the next fraternity meeting, I told the guys about my last visit at the clinic and how I needed a biopsy for a bump at the close out of my physical. It was interesting to learn that the 9 guys that have already completed the donation program had to go through the same thing. As the remaining 12 pledges completed their donation programs, they all had similar experiences. They all had to get biopsies, were in pain for a few days, healed, and then no news from the office. We assumed that this was all part of the donation program and that no news meant good news. The following year when the new bunch of boys pledged the fraternity, I as the Greater Cause Chair recommended my Little Bro (who was the new Greater Cause Pledge Chair) to do what I did and try to get his pledge class to fundraise through sperm donations. It became a pledge class tradition. Every new pledge class for at least the 4 years I was at the university, would apply to the sperm bank and earn their $3,000 fundraising requirement through it.

After college, I got a career, got married, and wanted to start a family. Now at 28yo, my wife and I were having trouble conceiving. I went to a fertility doctor who wanted me to take a sperm count test. When the test came back with a sperm count of zero, he was very concerned. He examined my testicles and discovered that I had no epididymis. It turns out that after my last donation, I had volunteered and signed a form to donate reproductive tissue at the bank. The doctor had removed my epididymis as part of the close out physical. After going back through my emails and copies of documentation from my freshmen year, I realized I had clearly signed a vague document that allowed the sperm bank to harvest reproductive tissue, own the rights to it, and resell it for research. I not only subjected myself to unknowingly sterilization, but also the sterilization of nearly 100 of my fraternity brothers over the time I was at the university.

College Physical

When I was a freshmen in college, I tried out for my college's football team. I played football in high school and was pretty good, but not good enough to be recruited... so I was required to try out for the team. Since the season started in the fall, new freshmen were required to show up for summer training 3 weeks before the start of the season. Because of this, I was allowed to move into my dorm early before anyone else in my hall. I had the whole floor pretty much to myself. The other freshmen trying out for the team were in other dorm buildings scattered around campus. On the first day of tryouts all of us freshmen met at the field at 7am and met with the older teammates. The sophomores, juniors and seniors were very intimidating and clearly better built for football than us freshman. They looked like professional football players, and were extremely built. When the coach showed up he introduced himself and the team, as well as mentioned his role as the dean of ...
